The Most Amazing Black Bean Brownie Recipe

black-bean-brownies.png

There’s a chill in the air, the lights are twinkling on our Christmas tree, and the smell of Cinnamon is in the air.

I’m not going to lie, I’m kind of loving these cozy weekends where we huddle up inside, put some good music on, make great food, and just hang out together as a family.

Since we started cutting down on our sugar intake, I’m determined to try my best during the holidays… and these brownies are perfect!

No white flour or sugar and they’re delicious!

If you’re doing some holiday baking this month, I definitely recommend trying this recipe too!

Ingredients

  • 1 (15 ounce) can black beans, drained & rinsed

  • 2 large eggs

  • ¼ cup cacao powder

  • ⅔ cup honey

  • ⅓ cup coconut oil

  • ½ teaspoon baking powder

  • Pinch of sea salt

  • 2–4 drops Peppermint essential oil

  • ¾ cup chocolate chips, divided

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350° F.

  • Place all ingredients, except for chocolate chips, in blender or food processor and blend until smooth.

  • Pour batter into large bowl and stir in ½ cup chocolate chips.

  • Pour into greased 8×8-inch pan and top with ¼ cup chocolate chips.

  • Bake 30–35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

You can also boost the flavor of your brownie with essential oils such as Peppermint, Wild Orange, Cinnamon, or even Lavender.

Let me know if you give it a try!
